It’s amazing how we come up with so many reasons to put off an appointment like a voice lesson. We start to sabatoge the process before it even begins. Some reasons may be: It’s too expensive, I’m nervous about it, I’m too old, or I can’t find a time or even I’ll get to it later when……..This one voice lesson can start you on a journey which will inspire you after you see all of the results it can offer. I’ve spoken many times about how your voice is controlled by muscles and like any muscle, time and consistency can create a resilient voice which gives you confidence in expressing yourself. This is not only with singing but speaking and communicating with those you care about and work with.
I recently started working with someone who is 84 years old. They have always wanted to sing and never tried it. Talk about years of excuses but yet, when they finally came in to sing, a whole new world opened up. When I saw the joy on their face, I couldn’t help but cry. Happy tears were flowing down my face seeing someone enjoy one of the simplest things we can do as a human.
In a vocal coaching session, you will address issues like what I call Covid Voice. That stagnant place of not singing where the wheels are rusty. Also things like tech neck, acid reflux, poor posture, poor breathing, loss of range and much more. All of these things can’t be addressed though until you take the initiative to step in and try. Regardless of your age or whatever else you think might be a reason to not sign up, take that step anyway. You’ll be amazed at the result. We have a voice studio in Santa Monica and one in North Hills. I look forward to working with you, regardless of your level. It’s about utilizing your way of expression.
